Recently I stated working from home! This is both an amazing blessing but also a curse. You see, I no longer have to commute 3 hours a day and I’m now doing something I LOVE, so much more!
But… anyone with a toddler knows that getting work done while they want to play, is not an easy task. I’m fortunate to have my Mother-In-Law come over to my house for a few hours in the morning until it’s my daughter’s nap time. Then, I usually get another hour and a half before I have to wake her lunch. After lunch, she gets on the buss and goes to school for a few hours, so I get a little more work done.
Only, some days, she doesn’t want to nap! I would understand it if she seemed full of energy but that’s not the case. I can tell she’s tired. I get her all ready for the nap and get her in her crib, but on day’s like today, she wants nothing to do with it.
She lays there singing to herself, which I will admit makes me smile from ear to ear, but then one of 2 things happen. Either she falls asleep just before it’s time to wake her 🙁 or she won’t nap at all. In either case, I end up with a very cranky 3 year old by the time she gets home from school.
As my husband is often out of town, I get the pleasure of fighting with her, all to my self.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I still love working from home. It’s just that every now and then, for only a moment or two, I miss actually “going” to work.
